Keertiman respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and contributors to do the same. This policy lays down the procedure for reporting copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512 and the Copyright Act, 1957 of India.

Our Commitment

We endeavour to remove any verified copyright-infringing content within 36 hours. Accounts of repeat infringers may be terminated.

Report an Infringement

If you believe any content published on keertiman.com infringes your copyright, please notify our designated copyright agent in writing. Your notice must include all of the following:

1. Identification: Your full name, address, telephone number and email address
2. Description of the copyrighted work: Description of the original work allegedly infringed — with links or copies of the original, and registration number (if available)
3. Location of infringing material: Exact URL(s) of the infringing material on our website
4. Good-faith statement: A statement that "I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law"
5. Accuracy statement: A statement that "the information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or am authorised to act on behalf of the owner"
6. Signature: Physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorised representative

Process

On receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

1. Acknowledge receipt by email within 3 business days
2. Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
3. Notify the user/author who published the content
4. Maintain a record of your complaint and our action

Counter-Notice

If you are a user and believe your content was removed by mistake, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature
2. Identification of the removed content and its previous location (URL)
3. A statement: "Under penalty of perjury, I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification"
4. Your full name, address, phone and email
5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of your district court

Warning Against False Claims

Any person who knowingly submits a materially false DMCA claim may be liable for damages, including legal fees. Please verify that the content actually infringes your copyright before sending your notice.

Repeat Infringers

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate the accounts of repeat-offender contributors. An account is automatically reviewed after a third valid DMCA complaint.

Fair Use and Attribution

Limited quotation of our content for news reporting, review, commentary, teaching, scholarship or research is permitted under Fair Use / Fair Dealing, with proper attribution and a link to the original.
